How to file a consumer complaint online on e-Jagriti
Consumer complaints are now filed online on e-Jagriti, the Department of Consumer Affairs platform that replaced e-Daakhil. Claims up to ₹50 lakh go to the District Commission, above ₹50 lakh up to ₹2 crore to the State Commission, and above ₹2 crore to the National Commission. There is no fee for claims up to ₹5 lakh, and you must usually file within 2 years.
First, a notice
Before filing, send the seller a written complaint or a legal notice giving a short time to fix the problem or refund. Many cases settle here, and it shows the Commission you tried.
What to upload
The bill or order confirmation, payment proof, warranty, photos of the defect, and your messages and emails with the seller. Keep the claim reasonable: refund, replacement, compensation and costs.
Free help before filing
The National Consumer Helpline (1915) can take up your complaint with the company first. If it does not work, file on e-Jagriti.
