What this is

A codicil formally amending an existing Will - changing or adding a beneficiary, replacing the executor, adding or removing a property, or correcting a mistake - without rewriting the whole Will, executed with the same formalities as a Will. It is for anyone who has a Will and wants a limited change. Our panel advocate drafts and reviews the codicil and delivers it signed on letterhead; execution before two witnesses, and registration if the Will was registered, are separate steps we explain.

What you get

A codicil drafted, reviewed and signed by our panel advocate on letterhead, identifying the Will by date and place, stating the specific clauses revoked, altered or added, confirming the rest of the Will, with a statement of sound mind and the execution block for the testator and two attesting witnesses. Delivered ready for execution, with a note on attestation, on registering the codicil where the Will was registered, and on when a fresh Will is wiser than a codicil. Registration charges are not included.
