What this is

Send a legal notice to a husband, partner or family member who has subjected you to physical, emotional, sexual or economic abuse in a domestic relationship, calling upon them to stop, to restore your right to the shared home, to return your belongings, and to pay for your expenses and maintenance. It is for women in a domestic relationship, whether married, formerly married, in a live-in relationship or living with family. Our panel advocate drafts, reviews and signs the notice on letterhead and it is sent by email and WhatsApp, with tracked speed post if you choose it.

What you get

A legal notice under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, drafted and signed by our panel advocate on letterhead, recording the relationship, the acts of domestic violence with dates, and the reliefs demanded: cessation of violence, undertaking not to repeat, restoration of residence, return of stridhan and belongings, and monetary relief, within a fixed time. Sent to the respondent by email and WhatsApp. Optional tracked speed post (+₹79) adds the dispatch receipt, tracking ID and delivery acknowledgement. Includes a short note on the application under Section 12 before the Magistrate, the role of the Protection Officer, and the interim and ex parte orders available if the notice is not complied with or if the situation is urgent.

How it works

  1. Tell us if you are safeBefore anything else, tell us whether you are in immediate danger. If you are, the advocate may advise a direct application or police help instead of, or before, a notice.
  2. Share the detailsWho the respondent is, your relationship, the shared home, and the incidents with dates. Upload medical reports, photographs, messages or police complaints if you have them. We read them and pre-fill dates for you to confirm.
  3. Answer the advocate's questionsWhere you live now, whether any complaint or case exists, your belongings and stridhan, children, and what you want the notice to achieve.
  4. PayPay the fee. Tracked speed post is optional.
  5. Advocate drafts and signsOur panel advocate assesses the facts, decides whether a notice is the right first step, drafts it and signs it on letterhead.
  6. Notice is sentThe notice goes to the respondent by email and WhatsApp, and by speed post if chosen. You receive your copy and the next-steps note.
